The COST action T0PAGRI (Towards zer0 Pesticide AGRIculture: European Network for sustainability) organises the research school "Rethinking plant breeding for a zero-pesticide agriculture" in Bordeaux, France, on 13, 14 and 15 May. This event aims to bring together researchers, students, and professionals to explore innovative approaches and future directions in plant breeding, focusing on the challenges and opportunities presented by the pesticide-free agriculture paradigm.

The research school will cover a range of topics, including:

  • Novel breeding strategies
  • Strategies and tools to plan the deployment and sustainable management of resistant varieties
  • Diversifying the breeding strategies by taking into account the plant microbiome
  • Presentation of the challenges seen from the industry
  • Collaborative works to think new projects for the COST members

The event will feature keynote lectures, interactive workshops, and networking opportunities. Participants will have the chance to engage with leading experts, share their research, and contribute to shaping the future of plant breeding in a sustainable, pesticide-free context.
