Working Group PlantAlliance-GIS GCHP2E

Aware of the importance of dialogue and the initiation of cooperation between their communities, GIS Biotechnologies Vertes and GIS Grandes Cultures à Hautes  Performances Economiques et Environnementales (GC HP2E) organized a workshop in 2019 entitled "Agro-genetic levers for an agriculture with stable and multiple performances, based on a diversification of crops and agricultural practices ”. In the context of agroecology, genetic progress remains a source of hope for contributing to the goals of sustainability in agriculture. The know-how of the breeder can satisfy some of these demands in the short term. For others, it is necessary to specify the functions to be improved and the methodological framework for acquiring such references, in particular for phenotyping. Genetic traits are also to be identified in service plants, inter-species mixtures, etc. As a result of this workshop, the Agronomy-Genetics working group (WG) was created. In connection with emerging cropping systems, the objectives of the WG are:

  • To prioritize for agroecological and ecosystem functions to be mobilized in order to improve of cropping and production systems multi-performance.
  • To identify generic priorities, particularly of interest to many species, many cropping and / or production systems, and many areas.
  • To integrate the necessary and sufficient elements to be able to carry out an initial prioritization: economic, environmental, societal gains and also delivery lead times, "market shares" (potential areas deployed).
